The Story of Jesus
Christian mythology combines the myths of Pagan godmen like Attis, Dionysus, Osiris, and Mithras, into a single story. Jesus was the son of a great universal God, miraculously conceived by a virgin mother, who lived on Earth rather than in heaven. His life was marked by miracles and the fulfillment of prophecy. In his death and resurrection is symbolized ascension into heaven and reunion with God.
The Christ is typically depicted at the moment of his death upon a Roman cross. The story is consistent with the mainstream pagan themes of baptism, rebirth and salvation.
