March, 2002- Artist Philip Hitchcock has been commissioned by the World
Wrestling Federation (WWF) to create bodycast sculptures of seven
wrestling Superstars. The sculptures will be exhibited at the annual
"Wrestlemania Fan Axxess" show, held this year in Toronto, Canada.
"The idea of the exhibit," according to Hitchcock, "was to capture the
essence of each wrestler's signature move. These are the poses and
gestures which are instantly recognizable to fans."
The sculptures are on display as part of the Wrestlemania Fan Axxess
show at The National Trade Centre Automotive Building at Exhibition
Place, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event takes place Thursday, March
14, through Saturday, March 16, 2002 from 12:00 to 4:30 pm and 6:00 to
10:30 pm on all three days. Meet the artist from 2:00 to 8:00pm each
day.
